Growing defence role for WA
The signing of two long-term leasing deals by BAE Systems has highlighted the defence sector’s role in the state’s economy.
BAE Systems is a global company delivering products and services for clients in more than 100 different countries across the resources, energy, defence, and commercial maritime sectors. In Western Australia BAE Systems has a privately-owned waterfront fabrication and load-out facility, a self-contained 14.5 hectare facility within the Australian Marine Complex (AMC) and is directly adjacent to the AMC Common User Facility (CUF). It enables all operations including fabrication, load out, docking of vessels and barges to be managed and controlled from within one site.
BAE Systems has transitioned to support the mining & minerals processing, oil & gas and energy sectors with multi-discipline services including a ‘One Stop Shop’ for full turn-key fabrication, assembly/lay down area, pre-site commissioning, and full roll on/roll off or heavy load out capabilities from its own wharves.
