In November 2019, IMF Bentham merged with Omni Bridgeway. In February 2020, IMF Bentham changed its name to Omni Bridgeway with the aim of creating a global leader in dispute resolution finance with expertise in civil and common law legal and recovery systems; and operations spanning Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, the UK and the US.
IMF Bentham, a listed public company involved in litigation financing since 2001, played a significant role in creating the global industry via its international expansion into US, Canada, Asia and Europe. The name 'Bentham' remembers Jeremy Bentham, the nineteenth century jurist and social reformer who was among the first to support the value of litigation funding and its role in levelling the legal playing field between the poor and wealthy.
Omni Bridgeway was founded in the Netherlands in 1986, and is a financier of high-value claims and global specialist in cross-border enforcement against sovereign governments.
