As of 1st of July 2014, the Dampier Port Authority has combined with the Port Hedland Port Authority to form Pilbara Ports Authority. Dampier Port Authority was previously governed under the Port Authorities Act 1999 and operated as a corporatised entity with a board of management that reported to the Western Australian Minister for Transport.
