3F is an asset management company that specialises in advisory and investment management of primary production supply chain assets and complementary businesses in Australia and Asia. 3F Asset Management was founded in 2013 and has positioned itself as Australia’s premier advisory firm for the agribusiness sector. The company provides a range of services including corporate advisory for existing and new industry participants, opportunity identification and due diligence through to structuring and financing.
Since being established, the founders of 3F Asset Management have been researching and developing an investment platform (named the Food and Fibre Fund) to provide investors with an opportunity to gain diversified exposure to the food supply chain market. The Food and Fibre Fund has been developed at a time when the world faces a potential food crisis, with predictions of up to a 77% increase in population by 2050 (Australian Farm Institute, 2012). This increase, coupled with anticipated rising living standards – particularly in Asia – will require total food and fibre production in the world to double. The focus of the Food and Fibre Fund will be on commodities predicted to increase in demand throughout the Asian region. These include dairy, livestock, seafood and fresh produce sectors. 3F Asset Management believes that the Australian agricultural landscape provides significant opportunity for consolidation and expansion as a result of its capacity to supply high quality agricultural commodities.
