Complete Home Filtration, Pharmacy 777, and Fremantle Dockers Football Club were among the winners of the 2024 WA Business Awards.
Complete Home Filtration has taken home the major award as Western Australian Business of the Year at Business News’ annual WA Business Awards (formerly RISE).
The company specialises in designing, manufacturing and installing bespoke whole-of-home water filtration systems and also won Medium Business of the Year, which recognises businesses with between 30 and 100 full-time staff.
WA-owned and operated Complete Home Filtration was established in 2018 and has effectively doubled in size every 12 months to operate nationwide, now installing an average 1,100 systems each month.
Other finalists in the Medium Business of the Year category included JPS Management & Execution, GRB Resources (trading as Emyjor Services), iCatalyst and Benang.
The WA Business Awards function was hosted at the Crown Perth Grand Ballroom on Friday evening over a formal dinner, in front of more than 900 people.
Benang was named Indigenous Business of the Year, the category in which the multi-disciplinary contractor was a finalist in 2023.
The company won Indigenous business ahead of Gnalla Environmental, Nani Creative, Kardan Construction and KingKira Group.
Large Business of the Year was awarded to Pharmacy 777, followed closely by My Implant Dentist, Mader Group, Duratec and acQuire Technology Solutions.
Site Sentry emerged as Small Business of the Year, a category including Bid Write, Whipper Snapper Distillery, Moonsail and Space Collective Architects.
Micro Business of the Year was won by Page Advisory, ahead of Enviro Plant Hire, Donaldson Boshard, CoreData WA and Stork Davies Legal Advisors.
Fortawall took first place as Startup Business of the Year, while finalists in this category included BMR Piping & Civil, Jevons Robotics, Spinifex Ale House Broome (trading as Spinifex Brewery Cable Beach) and SeaStock.
Regional Business of the Year was awarded to DNTL Code ahead of strong competition from Odyssey Group, Southern Ports, Mallard Contracting and CRISP Wireless.
Meanwhile, Waalitj Foundation took home Not For Profit/Charity of the Year, a category including Bethanie Housing, Melville Cares, WA Return Recycle Renew Limited and Curtin Heritage Living.
Employer of the Year was awarded to Fremantle Dockers Football Club, ahead of fellow finalists Episafe, acQuire Technology Solutions, Advanced Mining Production Systems and JPS Management & Execution.
The judging panel included 19 of Western Australia’s business leaders: Mark Beyer, Sean Cowan, Paula Connell, Josh Boekhoorn, Gavin Futcher, Chris Page, Paul Coghlan, Lauren Gonzalez, Ben Pieyre, Anthony Grosser, Eva Stewart, Andrew Holder, Alison Taylor, Andrew Devitt, Lorna MacGregor, Vicky Vass, Geremy Farr-Wharton, Zion Ong and Charlotte Wagner.
Judges for the awards were required to abstain from voting if they had been involved with any of the entrants.
