St George Mining is gearing up to drill out a number of compelling new nickel targets at its Mt Alexander project in the Goldfields, some for the first time. A number of undrilled but compelling EM anomalies at the West End and Fish Hook prospects have been screaming to be drilled and have the potential to deliver greenfields discoveries according to St George.
St George says it is just days away from firing up an RC rig and a diamond rig to test multiple compelling electromagnetic and geological anomalies in search of new nickel accumulations at West End and Fish Hook.
The company said it will also drill out EM anomalies identified from recent, deeper drilling at Investigators. The West End prospect lies immediately west of Investigators and Fish Hook is located several kilometres east.
Metallurgical drill holes are also planned as part of a resources drill-out at the Strickland discovery, one of four shallow, high-grade discoveries St George has made along the Cathedrals Belt.
St George Mining Executive Chairman, John Prineas said: “This drill programme is designed to deliver several important milestones for the Mt Alexander Project. The first ever drilling of priority targets at West End and Fish Hook has the potential to deliver a new discovery. We already have four shallow, high-grade discoveries at the Cathedrals Belt – Investigators, Stricklands, Cathedrals and Radar – and we are excited at the opportunity to potentially add to our tally.
