St George Mining has fired up the drill rig in its maiden nickel-copper hunt at its Ajana project east of Geraldton in Western Australia’s Mid West region. The company is plunging about 3000m into a duo of intriguing geophysical anomalies in the heart of the underexplored Northampton mineral field that is prospective for Julimar-style intrusive-related nickel-copper-platinum group mineralisation.

Thick pegmatites, including one stretching more than 120m, have boosted St George Mining’s lithium search at its Mt Alexander project in WA, as it attempts to define a bigger lithium system. Management says its project confidence is growing after assay results from its recent drilling program at its Jailbreak prospect also confirmed multiple lithium-bearing pegmatites, with a peak value of 1.28 per cent lithium.

St George Mining has picked up seven new hard-rock lithium projects in Western Australia through its wholly-owned subsidiary Lithium Star, including five operations in the renowned southern Yilgarn Craton area. The company has secured a total of 14 licenses covering a significant 653 square kilometres, with exploration programs already planned this year across each of its projects.

St George Mining has delivered what it says are “groundbreaking” clay-hosted rare earths grading up to a huge 5125ppm TREO in the company’s first drilling foray into its Destiny project in Western Australia’s Goldfields region. Highlights from the company’s maiden 61-hole AC program at Destiny include 30m at 1885ppm TREO and 399ppm magnetic rare earth oxides (MREO) from 20m.

St George Mining has expanded its footprint on the Ida fault in Western Australia’s Goldfields region after picking up a new exploration licence alongside its Destiny rare earths and lithium project. The recently acquired Prince of Wales tenement is considered prospective for lithium, nickel and gold mineralisation and covers about 8km of the Ida fault next door to Destiny’s 90km stretch of the geological feature.

BMG Resources is planning to beef up its holdings in WA’s West Arunta region – known as elephant country for niobium and rare earths – with an option to nab a 90 per cent interest in 1470sq km of ground. The package sits 30km from Encounter Resources’ Crean project and its resource of 282 million tonnes at 0.54 per cent niobium oxide and 0.17 per cent TRE0.

SENAI collaborates with businesses to develop innovative technologies capable of driving business growth and efficiencies and has a strong record of collaboration with the private sector to advance businesses through those technologies.

BMG Resources has bored three diamond holes at its Wiluna Abercromby project in WA. The company began drilling 19 days ago and has booked 1076m drilled so far in a phase one program on the Capital deposit to expand and upgrade Capital’s maiden 518,000-ounce gold resource. The resource had previous hits of 1.45 g/t gold with high-grade zones up to 5.94g/t gold.

In a move that brings St George Mining a step closer to becoming a key critical metal producer, the company has raised $20 million in a placement to new and existing investors. The funds will be used to finalise its acquisition of the high-grade Araxá niobium-rare earth (REE) project in Brazil, adjacent to CBMM’s world-leading operations in Minas Gerais, with settlement now due in March.

St George Mining has inked a nine-month non-exclusive memorandum of understanding with one of the world’s leading steelmakers, the China-based Liaoning Fangda Group, which may lead to a deal to supply at least 20 per cent of future niobium production from its Araxá REE project in Brazil in exchange for funding support.
