Shares in Perth-based online movie company Quickflix have soared after it launched a streaming service with South Korean electronics giant LG.
Under a deal announced earlier this year, Australian customers can now stream Quickflix's online movies and TV shows through LG-branded smart televisions and Blu-ray players.
LG is the latest platform for Quickflix's entertainment streaming services, with the company recently announcing deals with Amazon's new Kindle Fire tablet, Sony's PlayStation 4 game console and Hybrid Television Services' TiVo digital recorder.
"This is the latest step by Quickflix to expand our reach into homes across Australia, giving TV and movie lovers more great ways to watch the content they love," Quickflix chief executive Stephen Langsford said.
"LG has a significant market share in this country so it's a big step for Quickflix and fantastic news for entertainment fans."
Quickflix shares closed the day's trade 18.1 per cent higher at 1.3 cents.
