Isolation no barrier to landing clients
BEING based in the world’s most isolated capital is no impediment to landing major national Sydney or Melbourne-based clients.
Stephen Langsford is a tech entrepreneur, investor, advisor and company director. For over 30 years, he has founded and led the growth of several successful businesses in high-growth sectors including information technology, entertainment and automotive.
Mr Langsford started his career with an international accounting firm before moving into investment funds management. In 1998 he founded Method + Madness, a pioneering internet and web development group which was later acquired by ASX-listed Sausage Software (later renamed SMS Management & Technology and since acquired by ASG Group). He was a member of the executive committee of SMS Management & Technology until 2002 when he founded Change Corporation - a consulting, information technology and venturing group - and was executive chair until it was acquired by ASX-listed CSG Limited (since acquired by Fuji Xerox) in December 2007. In 2004 Mr Langsford founded Quickflix, an online DVD rental and pioneer streaming company which listed on the ASX in 2005. Quickflix achieved many firsts including streaming to smart TV’s, game consoles and mobile devices, securing Hollywood studio content and HBO as a major investor. Quickflix was placed into voluntary administration in 2016 after it was unable to reach agreement with JV redeemable preference shareholders Nine Entertainment and Fairfax to restructure its interest in the company.
In 2017 Mr Langsford became executive chair and a major shareholder of TyreConnect, a B2B distributor of car tyres which expanded nationally and was acquired by ASX100 company Carsales in July 2021.
He serves on the board of Racing and Wagering WA, TAB, and mental healthcare group Richmond Wellbeing; and is executive chair of film and TV producer Indian Pacific Pictures.
