Geoffrey Widmer
Geoffrey Widmer is the principal of Palliser Group which specialises in corporate secretariat and governance, financial management services and resource evaluations. His qualifications include a Bachelors Degree in Economics (Monash University) and an MBA (Queen’s University, Canada), as well as an Advanced Diploma in Spanish Language from Don Quijote Language School in Spain. Mr Widmer is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Member of the Governance Institute of Australia (Grad Diploma Advanced Corporate Governance), and Member of the Association of Independent Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) and Society of Petroleum Engineers. He has extensive board and executive commercial experience in energy and resource exploitation in Australia, Asia and the Americas as well as in the infrastructure and technology industry sectors. Mr Widmer also has experience in corporate governance, energy project evaluation and financial analysis, business strategy, technology commercialisation, M&A and contract negotiations. He is the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Colombia and was previously the Victorian vice president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce. He speaks Spanish and is a frequent visitor to Colombia and Spain. Mr Widmer is also an Honorary Justice of the Peace (HJP).
