David Joyce

David Joyce is a former mining executive with over 37 years of experience in delivering major projects in Australia and internationally. He was involved in delivering the required
infrastructure, services, processing facilities and initial mining developments (underground and open pit) for both greenfield and brownfield developments around the world.
Mr Joyce retired from his executive role as global head of projects at Rio Tinto at the end of 2021, after a 17-year career with them. He was tasked with establishing and leading a new centralised global project and study team for all projects greater than US$250M. Prior to that appointment, he was managing director of expansion projects (iron ore).
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (1st class honours) from the University of Adelaide.
