The Esther Foundation was a charitable, not-for-profit organisation that operated a faith-based, holistic recovery program and provided residential accommodation to young women. The foundation said on its website that it aimed to educate, empower and enrich young women with self-worth, employment skills, and the confidence to lead successful lives within the community.

The Esther Foundation went into administration in April 2022. That month, a parliamentary inquiry began following allegations of emotional and psychological abuse at the foundation's residences, which tabled its report in December 2022. The report’s findings included that there had been unacceptable practices and a lack of accountability, which had caused harm to residents, and that the foundation had not adequately responded to complaints due to weak governance by the organisation’s leadership.
