Telco upstart Vonex is making good progress on beta testing the conference component of its game changing new “Oper8tor” communications App with over 1000 conference calls facilitated by the app over the past month.
This success has prompted the company to now open beta testing of Oper8tor Conference via web browser to the general public.
Oper8tor was designed to enable users of multiple voice communication platforms such as Skype or Whatsapp and others to communicate with each other in real time regardless of which platform each user subscribes to.
The company says its app will prevent time delays and technical trouble that occurs when multiple parties seek to communicate using differing technologies.
Oper8tor Conference is the first of three distinct Oper8tor products that Vonex intends to commercialise.
It allows users to manage, schedule and track all participants in browser and pull every participant into the conference call via the push of a button using Vonex’s “Call Blast” technology.
Oper8tor Conference will also have a real‐time editor for shared and collaborative notes and will be capable of replaying any conference voice recording.
It is built on the WebRTC framework, which is a leading open source solution supported by the Chrome, Firefox and Opera web browsers and importantly, by the Android and iOS smartphones.
The iOS and Android app version of Oper8tor Conference will be available in December with testing of the browser version ongoing.
Vonex Managing Director Matthew Fahey said: “While Oper8tor Conference is a major technology component of the Oper8tor App, early testing and feedback highlights the potential to launch Conference as a standalone product.”
In a world that is becoming increasingly reliant on technology for communications, Vonex appears to be in the right space at the right time and at the pointy end of this burgeoning market place.
