Minrex, Aleator join backdoor listings wave
Two local miners have announced plans to exit the resources industry and move into other fields, by way of backdoor listings.
Vonex is an ASX-listed telco business, and also the name of a company (formerly known as Aleator Energy) that was removed from the ASX official list in April 2016. It was removed after the ASX raised concerns about a $5m capital raising undertaken as part of a reverse takeover. The target company (which still trades as Vonex) is a telecommunications firm providing innovative VoIP solutions to commercial users.
Vonex opened for business in 2009 with $1.4 million in capital. It was co-founded by Angus Parker, the technology developer, and Brydie McKee, who had grown and developed several banking, broking and finance businesses. Ms McKee became a director of the listed entity in February 2016, when Aleator changed its name to Vonex, and resigned in April 2016 in order to focus on growing the original telco business.
The company listed on the ASX for the second time in June 2018.
