Brisbane based miner, Superior Resources has enjoyed some serious success with the drill bit recently at its Steam Engine prospect within the broader Greenvale project in Queensland. The company’s latest drill campaign produced a best result of 5 metres at 24.9 grams per tonne gold including a 1m intersection going a whopping 115 grams per tonne gold from just 29m down-hole.
The program is part of the company’s 13,000m drilling campaign underway at Greenvale, located approximately 210 kilometres west of Townsville in Queensland.
The drill holes reported in the third batch of results mainly targeted the down-dip extension areas at the northern end of the lode, which infill shallow parts of the Steam Engine footwall lode zone.
Other notable intersections reported in the latest batch of results from both Steam Engine and the nearby Eastern Ridge lode are 10m at 2.2 grams per tonne gold including 1m at 6.6 g/t from 32m, 9m at 2.2 g/t including 2m at 7.5 g/t from 14m and 6m at 3 g/t from 30m which included a 1m section going as high as 8.4 g/t gold.
Steam Engine has been throwing up a slew of positive results over the last few months with results going as high as 184 grams per tonne gold, 135 g/t and 47.5 g/t, all of which were reported previously.
Just last month Superior tabled a 1m drill intersection going over an ounce to the tonne at 38.8 g/t from just 23m down-hole.
Peter Hwang, Superior’s Managing Director said:
“The Steam Engine project importantly indicates the real potential for the discovery of very significant gold mineralisation within this system. All indications are that Steam Engine’s potential is yet to be realised. We are also pleased to see greatly improved turn-around times for the reporting of assays. To date, assays from 3,134 metres of drilling have been received from a total of 7,744 metres of drilling at Steam Engine.”
