After wrapping up a drilling campaign late last year at its Mt Remarkable project in the north of WA, King River Resources has now received all assays with notable gold grades up to 2.42 grams per tonne gold pointing to a new mineralised zone 150 metres east of the main Trudi deposit.
The new zone, as yet unnamed, shows geological and structural characteristics that point to potential high-grade mineralisation, proximal to, or down plunge of the gold anomalous zone. The best drilling result was 7 metres grading 0.85 grams per tonne gold including one metre at the higher grade 2.42 grams per tonne gold.
17 drill holes in total were targeted into the Main Trudi and Trudi East systems in the latest campaign, with the best results from the program including a 6 metre hit grading 5.95 grams per tonne gold from a tantalisingly shallow depth of just 20m downhole.
Three kilometres south-west from the Trudi deposit, reconnaissance drilling at the Jennifer North prospect was planned to follow up on anomalous copper and gold results from historical rock chip and soil samples.
Three out of four RC holes drilled threw up some interesting gold results over a length of some 70 metres and warrant follow up work. The company now says that Jeniffer North and the main Jeniffer vein may link up from a geological perspective, which means that there is now over 1.2 kilometres worth of prospective strike that needs further investigation.
King River drilled the main Jeniffer Vein in 2018 with some intriguing results that show a similar gold tenor to the outskirts of the Main Trudi Veins, which is certainly encouraging for the Perth company.
Elsewhere, King River has run a gravity and magnetic geophysical survey across the Lonestar trend and the Commitment magnetic anomaly at its Treasure Creek project in the Tennant Creek region of the NT.
The company’s Treasure Creek project is the equivalent of prime real estate, with Emmerson Resources’ Mauretania deposit only 700 metres from the western tenement boundary. Last year, Emmerson pegged a diamond hole that returned 20 metres at an astonishing 38.5 grams per tonne gold.
At the Lonestar trend, a magnetic anomaly that is screaming to be drilled, has been identified by King River only 3.3 kilometres from Emmerson’s Mauretania deposit.
At the Commitment prospect, a coincident gravity and magnetic geophysical anomaly has been identified that could represent a hematite rich part of a Tennant Creek-style iron oxide copper-gold deposit.
Tennant Creek style-deposits are generally rich in haematite and magnetite iron oxides and are known to be mineralised with copper, bismuth, silver and gold.
The company is still carrying out detailed geological and geophysical reviews of its entire Treasure Creek tenement package.
The Mt Remarkable gold project is situated 200km south-west of Kununurra in the East Kimberley district of WA, where the company has identified a smorgasbord of exploration targets across its vast underexplored tenements.
It is a precious metals companion for the company’s giant Speewah Dome vanadium-titanium-iron project, also in WA, that is shaping up to be the largest deposit of its kind anywhere in the world.
King River essentially has a big blue sky opportunity that is accompanied by a more traditional gold play with near term cash flow potential that could easily support the vanadium-titanium-iron play development into the future.
