ASX listed Connected IO has bolted another blue-chip client to its already impressive customer base, with the Perth-based tech player locking down its first purchase order from US industry giant Arrow Electronics.
In an update to the market on Thursday, the company said it had received an initial purchase order of USD$60,000 from Arrow, which would see Connected IO’s products available through Arrow’s 465 offices across 90 countries.
The purchase order would also result in Arrow and Connected IO working together on collaborative marketing and distribution efforts on Connected IO’s entire menu of products and accessories, involving field trials with existing Arrow customers, company management said.
Connected IO’s chief executive Yakov Temov said: “The relationship with Arrow provides CIO with an important ally in our effort to efficiently and effectively expand our addressable market in the US and around the world.
“Arrow’s enthusiastic interest in CIO is further validation of the tremendous depth and breadth of the opportunity that lies before us.”
Connected IO is a pioneer in the burgeoning “internet of things” sector, a concept that is all about connecting devices, machines and everyday “things” to the internet via wireless technology so they can be monitored, controlled or managed.
The latest announcement comes after news last month that Connected IO has boosted its flagship partnership with both AT&T and fellow US telco giant,Verizon.
AT&T has signed a “machine to machine” communications agreement with Connected IO that enables the two companies to collaborate on major initiatives and jointly target high-profile customers.
The announced purchase order from Arrow signals a deepening of the relationship between Connected IO and AT&T, with Arrow being a referred client from the US telco.
The Arrow order also further strengthens the company’s already impressive customer base that includes Coca-Cola, Vodafone, The Red Cross, Cisco, and some US Police departments.
