Tim Picton spearheaded the Labor party’s campaign in Western Australia in 2021 that helped it pull off a landslide election victory.
Mr Picton began his career in politics in 2009 in the offices of Adelaide MP Amanda Rishworth and Senator Don Farrell, before becoming an adviser to the South Australian health minister in 2013. He moved to the office of Dan Andrews, serving as his principal adviser and later as director of strategic communications.
Mr Picton spent 11 months as director of strategy and governance with the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority in Victoria before moving to Western Australia to work as campaign director for WA Labor in February 2020 to July 2022. He then joined Mineral Resources as executive general manager of corporate affairs before becoming director of corporate strategy and growth in August 2023.
