Crown's Sydney casino to open next month
Crown says its Sydney casino at Barangaroo will open to the public in two weeks "with the highest levels of governance and compliance".

Simon McGrath AM has extensive experience in the hospitality industry.
He was appointed chief executive of Crown Sydney and group head of hospitality for Crown Resorts in February 2022. Prior to that, Mr McGrath joined Accor Pacific and became the general manager of Sofitel Reef Casino Cairns in 2005. Two years later, he became vice president of operations, and in 2012 as chief operating officer for the entire Pacific region. He continued to hold leadership roles on different tourism boards across the Pacific.
Mr McGrath has had a career in executive management positions in main cities and leisure destinations throughout Australia. He has also worked throughout Asia in key locations including Malaysia and Thailand.
In 2019, Mr McGrath was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for his significant work in the promotion of Australian tourism internationally.
