New shareholders at Meerkats
Advertising and branding agency Meerkats has widened its ownership, with co-founders Ronnie Duncan and Mike Edmonds selling part of their shareholding to six current staff.
Ronnie Duncan was the co-founder & chair of Meerkats until it was acquired by ASX-listed marketing company WPP AUNZ in July 2020. He has extensive experience in purpose-led, brand strategy development and implementation within the food and energy sectors; and specialises in brand meaning, strategy and development, communications planning, market research, systems thinking, and corporate strategy. Mr Duncan was the sole external advisor to the British Shadow Cabinet for the communications strategy in the 2001 British General Election. He was responsible for a AUD$25million marketing budget over six weeks. The political campaign was “widely regarded as one of the best series of political ads in history” (source: The Guardian, April 2004).
