Dr Robert Wrixon has over 20 years of experience in corporate strategy, mining M&A, and mineral exploration.
He was managing director of ASX-listed uranium exploration company Uranio (now Manhattan Corporation) which grew from a $7m IPO to a top-10 Australian uranium company with a market cap of over $100m in just over two years via strategic project acquisitions. Dr Wrixon previously worked for Xstrata where he spent five years in marketing, corporate strategy and business development (M&A) for both Xstrata Coal in Sydney and Xstrata plc, based in London. He was Xstrata's representative on the board of directors of the Cerrejon Coal joint venture in Colombia which produces 32 million tonnes of seaborne export thermal coal per annum. Before joining Xstrata, Dr Wrixon was a project manager with Mars & Co, a global strategy consulting firm working at client sites in the USA and Asia and helped to establish the Tokyo office of Mars & Co in 2001.
Originally from Ireland, Dr Wrixon now holds dual Australian and Irish citizenship.
He has a PhD in Mineral Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
