Richard Giles was called “the network marketer” by BRW. He is on the Library Board of Western Australia and is the planning director and general manager of Adapptor which produces useful, playful and powerful apps for mobile devices. Mr Giles has been involved in the technology industry since the Bulletin Board System days in the eighties, mobile technology since 1990 where he worked for Hutchison Telecom in technical support, and on the Internet since 1994 where he built corporate websites, lectured about online commerce at Curtin University, and sold corporate Internet connections. Mr Giles had also worked for Sun Microsystems, authored the Podcasting Pocket Guide and How to Use Flickr: The Digital Photography Revolution, and won awards for podcasting. In 2006, he launched Recommendation Ventures which is a cloud based recommendation engine that was used by a number of companies including IceTV for television show recommendations. It was listed in BRW’s Australia’s Top 10 Web Applications in 2008.
