Peter Meurs

Peter Meurs was a prominent mining and engineering executive in Perth before retiring from business in April 2016 to take a senior international role with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mr Meurs was the executive director and director developments at Fortescue Metals Group for 6 years. He joined the company in 2010 to take control of expansion and development projects, and was appointed to the board in 2013. Prior to that, he was a founder and managing director of WorleyParsons and a mechanical engineer at Esso Australia.

Mr Meurs is a finalist in the Professions Award category of the 2019 Western Australian Of The Year Awards.
