Paul Shillington is an accomplished lawyer, senior executive and team leader with more than 20 years of experience in legal, commercial and executive leadership roles. His primary focus is in the energy and infrastructure sectors particularly oil, gas, renewables and construction. His broad transactional and management experience encompasses all facets of business internationally including strategy, risk management, operations, joint ventures, M&A, equity and debt capital financing, dispute management and resolution, regulatory and compliance matters.
Mr Shillington has been involved in the energy industry since 1999 when he joined Coflexip Stena Offshore (now Technip-FMC) as regional counsel for the Asia Pacific region, and then as an external legal advisor to ExxonMobil dedicated to its Greater Gorgon LNG development project.
He established an energy-focussed legal consulting business in Paris in 2008, and then moved to Geneva in 2011 to undertake the role of chief legal officer and corporate secretary at Oryx Petroleum Corporation, a TSX-listed African and Middle Eastern focussed E&P company. Mr Shillington's experience includes working with, and in, challenging legal jurisdictions; and with both private and public companies, high-net-worth individuals, governmental agencies and Ministries.
