Associate Professor Parwinder Kaur is an award-winning scientist and biotechnological pioneer with over 15 years of initiating and delivering research outcomes in biotechnology. Her major experience, as an academic and entrepreneur, lies in leading cross-disciplinary applied biotechnology research for innovation and research translation.
Prof Kaur also mentors for gender equity and is the founder of DNA Zoo Australia (the lead Australian node for the DNA Zoo global consortium), founder and chair of WA Genome Atlas initiative where she led the rapid release of the world’s first high-quality public genomes of over 50 Australian species, and leads cross-disciplinary biotechnology research investigating Earth’s biodiversity and natural environments to ensure sustainable futures.
She was inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame in 2023.
