Neil Warburton has worked within the mining industry throughout his entire career in roles ranging from corporate non executive directorships to managing large mining and contracting companies. This experience covers gold and base metal mining.
Until March 2012 Mr Warburton was the chief executive of Barminco, one of Australia's largest underground mining contractors where he successfully guided and grew the company both within Australia and Africa with revenues having more than doubled during his tenure. Before joining Barminco, he was managing director of Coolgardie Gold. Mr Warburton was also executive chair and acting chief executive of ASX-listed Red Mountain Mining.
Mr Warburton was awarded the GJ Stokes Memorial award at the 2023 Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum. The award recognises someone who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the mining industry.
He graduated from the Western Australian School of Mines with an Associate Degree in Mining Engineering, is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and Fellow of the Australlian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
