Dr Michael Schaper is an experienced company director & chair, and economic policy & development consultant. His areas of expertise include economic and business regulation, franchising, governance, small business development, entrepreneurship development, industry and business associations, Asian small business development.
Dr Schaper was deputy chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Small Business Commissioner for the Australian Capital Territory, and was involved in several peak industry and professional associations. He became a board member of the Gaming & Wagering Commission of Western Australia in April 2022, and was appointed chair in February 2023 for a 3-year term as the State Government takes steps to toughen the regulatory framework governing WA’s casino following the findings of the Perth Casino Royal Commission.
