Michael Kitney is an internationally experienced extractive metallurgist with over 40 years of international experience in mine operations, project and feasibility management.
He was the chief operating officer of Kasbah Resources in February 2011 and was responsible for the Moroccan operations and delivery of the definitive feasibility study on the Achmmach Tin Project. Mr Kitney’s particular strengths are in production and mineral processing management, all aspects of environmental management, project evaluation and assessment and management of interdisciplinary project teams. He held senior technical and management positions with Alcoa Australia, British Phosphate Commissioners, Minproc Engineers, The Property Company of London, Nelson Gold Corporation and Avocet Mining.
Mr Kitney also has extensive project development expertise having been involved in multiple new mine developments in Mali, Ghana, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Malaysia in both owners' and consultancy roles. He was instrumental in developing ground up support for Achmmach within the local communes and Provincial Administration in Morocco.
