Sky and Space raises $10m
Nano-satellite maker Sky and Space Global has bolstered its cash reserves after completing a $10 million capital raising.
Meir Moalem is a jet fighter pilot, Lt. Col (Res.) of the IAF, has over 20 years of experience in management, R&D and operation of state-of-the-art projects in Space Systems and UAS. Meir is a Founder of SSG and its CEO and Managing Director. Meir served as the head of Space Systems Branch in the Israeli Air Force, led the MEDIEX experiment on Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-107) as the project manager for Israel first astronaut flight and led Israel’s satellite projects including Ofeq and Techsar. During his many years of service, Meir worked with high level national security contacts, planning for strategic security requirements, projects initiation, development and design management, policy making, total responsibility for planning, while managing multi-million project budgets. Meir holds a B.Sc. in Physics from Ben Gurion University, M.A. in national security from Tel Aviv University and is in final stage of his PhD. Meir was awarded the Israel National Security Award in 2009.

Nano-satellite maker Sky and Space Global has bolstered its cash reserves after completing a $10 million capital raising.
Shares in Sky and Space Global have soared after announcing it had secured a $US30 million ($40 million) contract for a Nigerian company to use its nanosatellite technology for the next five years.
iiNet founder and 40under40 winner Michael Malone has been appointed chair of ASX-listed satellite company Sky and Space Global (SAS).
Michael Malone-chaired Sky and Space Global has received binding commitments to raise $12 million via a share placement, with a further $3 million to be raised through a priority offer.
West Perth-based Sky and Space Global has revised its previously announced plans for a $15 million capital raising, with the funds to be raised through a placement and rights issue at 0.5 cents per share.
Sky and Space Global’s proposed cutting edge miniature satellite network has received further commercial validation with the company’s wholesale partner securing customers interested in accessing bandwidth from the first three units when they are launched into space. Sky and Space estimates potential initial revenues from the new contracts at circa US$500,000 per year.
Perth listed Sky & Space Global’s dreams of heading into space are about to be realized, with confirmation of a late-May launch date for the company’s first three telecommunications “nano-satellites”. The company this week reported that the Indian Government space agency had confirmed the launch of the satellites next month, paving the way for maiden revenues to flow within months.

The company is also planning to expand its commercial opportunities in the satellite sector as it continues to attract telecommunications customers.
