Matthew Allen has over 25 years of experience in the resources finance sector; across a range of commodities including rare earths and oil and gas; and global upstream experience in the US, Asia, Africa, Australia and the Middle East. He also has significant experience in debt and equity funding solutions for resources development, the operation and management of listed public companies and the establishment of finance teams, systems and processes.
Mr Allen became chief financial officer of multi-asset Western Australia company Global Lithium Resources in mid-April 2023. Prior to that, he was the chief financial officer of Hastings Technology Metals; he joined Otto Energy in 2009 as chief financial officer and became chief executive in February 2014, managing director in June 2015, and senior advisor from June 2020 until his appointment at Hastings Technology Metals; and was with Woodside Energy for over 8 years where he held leadership roles in a number of Woodside business units, including within Woodside’s overseas businesses in Africa.
Mr Allen is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
