WA’s political landscape could be radically altered this month as the state government appears primed for an unprecedented win.
Mark Folkard is a Labor Party Member of the Western Australia Legislative Assembly for Burns Beach.
He has been a police officer for over 27 years prior to politics. Mr Folkard has been awarded the Police Overseas Service Medal with East Timor clasp, the National Police Service Medal, the National Medal, the Australian Defence Medal, the Commissioner's Medal for Excellence, the Western Australia Police Medal, and the United Nations Medal (UNMISET). He was also a finalist for WA Police Officer of the Year for his work in engaging with community organisations to help combat youth disadvantage.
Mr Folkard is a surf lifesaver and was a volunteer firefighter.
