Ashley resigns from LionOre
Mark Ashley has resigned as managing director of LionOre Australia and director of LionOre Mining International Ltd, effective May 31st, 2006.
Mark Ashley is a senior resource executive with an over 30-year career launching, turning around, and optimizing internationally listed organizations mostly in Mining and Natural Resource Sectors. Mr Ashley has a wide ranging and in-depth knowledge of the
technical, commercial and financial aspects of the Resource sector (precious metals, base metals and bulk commodities) having held senior executive roles of a number of internationally listed entities including Normandy Mining, Cluff Resources, LionOre
Mining International, Kagara Zinc, Apex Minerals and many others. He has significant international experience having worked in London, Shanghai, Turkey, Africa, Australia and now the USA. Mr Ashley is a citizen of the USA, Australia and the UK and currently resides in California where he has headed Tonogold Resources since May 2013. He became the chairman of Marquee Resources in 2017 at its listing.
As CEO of LionOre Mining International, Mr Ashley was responsible for: developing the Thunderbox gold deposit and the Emily Ann nickel sulphide deposit in Western Australia; corporate activity including the $240 million acquisition of MPI Limited, the merger of Dalrymple Resources and consolidation of LionOre Nickel; production from the Silver Swan underground nickel sulphide deposit and the underground Bounty Gold mine; acquisition of three copper, lead, zinc deposits in Northern Queensland and three refractory gold deposits and a BIOX treatment facility in Western Australia.
