Laurence (Laurie) Shervington is chairman of the Broome Port Authority, and a director of Cooper Energy. Mr Shervington has over 35 years specialist commercial and corporate law experience. He is special counsel at Squire Sanders (formerly Minter Ellison), having previously been partner there for many years. He was a member of the legal sub-committee of the Corporations and Markets Advisory Committee (CAMAC) to the federal government for 15 years and was the inaugural general counsel of ASIC's WA regional office. Mr Shervington is currently a member of the Australian Government Takeovers Panel. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).
