Lara Dalton has been the Labor Party Member of the Western Australia Legislative Assembly for Geraldton since 2021. She first stood for the 2017 state election in the same seat.
Ms Dalton spent the majority of her life in Geraldton, Western Australia, and is an active member of many community and sporting associations including executive roles on schools and not-for-profit boards. She was a member of the Governing Body of Leaning Tree Community School for eight years, including 3 years as chair.
Ms Dalton has a passion for youth, youth issues & opportunities and is a board member of the Short Term Accommodation for Youth (STAY).
She also has a background in hospitality, tourism and training. She established, owned and operated the Salt Dish Cafe from 2009–2014 and is the Hospitality Lecturer at Central Regional College of TAFE where she coordinates and runs short skillsets for the hospitality Industry locally as well as in remote and regional centres such as Meekatharra and Perenjori in Western Australia.
