Jennifer McGrath was the acting commissioner of the Mental Health Commission in June 2019 and was formally appointed commissioner from October 2020 to October 2022 before becoming deputy director general at the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
Ms McGrath was previously the deputy director general of education business services at the WA Department of Education where she was also responsible for leading resource allocation and financial management across the Department including school funding, infrastructure and information technology. She has worked in the WA public sector for 12 years including senior executive positions at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and Department of Finance.
Ms McGrath is a Certified Practising Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce.
