Imants Kins is an economist with over 30 years of experience specialising in the resource sector. Mr Kins has worked in the State Government (including industrial and resource development) and then mainly the private sector within the resource sector. Since 1987, he was mainly a consultant to the resource sector undertaking projects with exploration and mining companies, investors and brokers. Mr Kins also has extensive resource sector-based strategic planning, macroeconomic and corporate governance experience.
Mr Kins has strong skills in project development, having worked in a range of industries including mining, mineral processing, natural resource downstreaming, electronics, tourism, local government, property development and manufacturing, assisting with projects in both Australia and overseas. His major areas of experience are in the natural resource sector, with particular focus on feasibility studies and global trend analysis.
He was co-chair (with Gina Rinehart) and one of the founders of Australians for Northern Development and Economic Vision (ANDEV).
Mr Kins has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of WA, and a Master of Arts (Futures Studies) from Curtin University.
