Ian McFeat-Smith

Dr Ian McFeat-Smith has over 35 years of design consultancy and experience working with contractors on large scale underground projects, particularly in tunneling. Dr McFeat-Smith's experience embraces geotechnical and civil engineering consultancy work for mass transit railway, highway tunnels, water, flood relief, sewage, utility, power generation and transfer projects including the Hong Kong MTR, KCR, Guangzhou, Taipei, Athens and Singapore metros. He has recently worked on the SMART tunnels in Kuala Lumpur, the Brisbane N-S Bypass Tunnels, on the ‘High Level Committee’ review for the Parbati HEP Project in India; as Leighton Kumagai’s Engineering Manager for the Eagle’s Nest tunnels highway tunnels in Hong Kong, and is currently independent risk management supervisor for Link 200’s Kowloon Southern Link.
