Gary Roberts

Gary Roberts AM has a radio career spanning 4 decades. He spent 9 years on air with stations in Adelaide, Sydney and Perth before moving into programming.

Mr Roberts launched 96fm in 1980 and was general manager for 8 years, taking the station to a dominant number 1 position. Mr Roberts was managing director of Mix 94.5 and 92.9 for 10 years and formed radio’s first duopoly which he took to a dominant number 1 and 2 position. In 2002, he launched Nova 93.7 and was its managing director until December 2021.

Mr Roberts is particularly proud that the Fogarty Foundation, of which he was a trustee, founded CoderDojo WA and of the program's significant impact in such a short period of time.

In 2020, Mr Roberts was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for significant services to the broadcast media, particularly to radio.
