Francois Tumahai is the chief executive of Arahura Holding and chair of Te Runanga o Ngāti Waewae. As chief executive of Arahura Holding, he is also involved in the management of the extraction and mining of pounamu (greenstone).
Mr Tumahai began his career as a mechanic, and has over 25 years of experience in heavy machinery.
Mr Tumahai also has over 15 years of governance experience as a company director, and 20 years of governance experience with not-for-profit organisations. He is a board member of Development West Coast, West Coast Conservation Board, Grey District Council, New Zealand Institute for Minerals to Materials Research, and the West Coast Regional Council.
