The business of theatre
THE dream of a new theatre in Perth has resulted in a unique partnership between the Black Swan Theatre Company and Woodside.
Duncan Ord OAM has been the director general at the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries since August 2017. Mr Ord will step down as director general at the end of May 2021 before retiring in August 2021.
Mr Ord was Dean of the School of Performing Arts (WAAPA), and general manager of the WA Theatre Company and Black Swan Theatre. He had also worked at various government departments including education and training, industry and resources, aboriginal affairs, and planning.
Mr Ord was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2013, and a winner of the Churchill Fellowship in 1982.
