Derek Marshall

Derek Marshall has worked with major mining companies and ASX-listed explorers for over 19 years. He has held managerial and technical roles with explorers in remote locations, ranging from greenfields exploration to
bankable feasibility level studies.

Mr Marshall will become chief executive of Trek Metals in September 2021. He has held senior roles with with ASX-listed Newcrest Mining and was part of the exploration team for the Havieron Gold-Copper Project located 45km east of Telfer in Western Australia. He was responsible for leading the project-based exploration team and provided technical oversight for exploration programs. As exploration manager of ASX-listed Buxton Resources where he worked for over 5 years, Mr Marshall worked with the managing director to formulate a belt-scale nickel-copper sulphide exploration opportunity.

Mr Marshall holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology (first-class honours) from the University of Western Australia.
