David Welch is an experienced senior executive in the planning, development and operation of logistics and infrastructure supply chains for commodities markets including mining, agriculture and industrial products sectors.
He held senior executive positions during his tenure at Aurizon Holdings from 2007 to 2017 including as vice president of iron ore, market development, strategy and business development. He also had direct responsibility for strategy, business transformation and performance, commercial negotiations, stakeholder engagement, major projects, joint venture management, merger and acquisition, and business development. Mr Welch was also managing director of The Millennium Group from 1998 to 2006, and marketing manager of CSBP (part of the Wesfarmers conglomerate) in the development of mining re-agent and agriculture products from 1989 to 1994.
Mr Welch holds a Bachelor of Commerce with First Class Honours in International Business, Trade & Commerce from the University of WA.
