SolarisCare, Cancer Support WA in sync
Two Perth-based not for profits have teamed up to combine cancer support services, with SolarisCare and Cancer Support WA announcing their plans to merge.
David Edwards has extensive business and management experience across the private, government and community sectors including as a national board member of the Australia Indonesia Business Council, general manager of Clinical Training and Education Centre, and director of the Western Australian Trade and Investment Office in Indonesia.
Mr Edwards was appointed chief executive of Solaris Cancer Care in November 2009 and managing director in 2017. Solaris Care merged with Cancer Support WA in mid 2016. Mr Edwards left Solaris in October 2020. He joined Ability WA in December 2020 as general manager of strategy and growth before becoming acting chief customer officer in June 2022.
