2015 was the world’s worst year on record for unprovoked shark attacks according to The International Shark Attack File.This statistic has prompted Perth based Shark Mitigation Systems to float (SMS) its much talked about business on the ASX with the company prospectus now on the streets. SMS will raise $4m at 20c a share in a traditional IP

Unique Australian shark deterrent and detection company Shark Mitigation Systems have raised $3.5m and will officially list on the ASX today at 10am. The company are seeking to further commercialize two exciting new shark deterrent technologies that have been partnered by Google and Optus and researched by the University of Western Australia.  

There’s an old saying that everyone’s a genius with the benefit of hindsight. Looking back now it doesn’t seem that hard to understand why new Shark deterrent and detection company Shark Mitigation Systems jumped 30% above its listing price last week following on from its admission to the ASX on Thursday. The company's share price touched 26c last week after listing at 20c.

Shark Mitigation Systems have announced the achievement of their first major milestone after only listing on the ASX last week. The company says that its “Clever Buoy” shark detection sonar is now ready for commercialization after successfully completing a trial at the iconic Bondi beach and receiving endorsement from  the Australian Professional Ocean Lifeguard Association. 

Recently listed Perth shark deterrent and detection company Shark Mitigation Systems is now officially punching above its weight as an ASX junior after world surfing legend Taj Burrow agreed to lend his name to the brand as its world wide Ambassador. Burrow will draw global attention to the company's unique, scientifically inspired wetsuits and other products designed to deter shark attacks. 

Many companies that list on the ASX do so with the promise of “going global” once they are listed but don't manage to live up to that promise. One recent ASX listing that looks like it might be good for its word is Perth based Shark Mitigation Systems who have just secured a contract to protect the world's best surfers with their “Clever Buoy’ shark detection technology. 

In a sign that ASX listed Shark Mitigation Systems are getting serious about taking their unique shark deterring wetsuits to market, surf wear industry specialist Simon O’Sullivan has been appointed as General Manager of the company. O’Sullivan was most recently the Australian Chief Operating Officer of well known surf brand Rusty with responsibility for the Australian operations.  

Shark Mitigation Systems’ Clever Buoy will be put to the ultimate test by the NSW Government in a move that could trigger a global sales boom for the Perth-based company. NSW Minister for Primary Industries, Niall Blair, announced this week that his department would team up with the University of Technology in Sydney to conduct a field trial of the Clever Buoy.

ASX listed Shark Mitigation Systems have achieved scientific validation of their unique, patented, shark deterrent wetsuits after the University of W.A completed a ground breaking trial of the company’s “SAMS” wetsuit technology with live white sharks in South Africa. The results, which are quite stunning, show that it took a shark 400% longer to engage with a SAMS wetsuit.

The State Government will deploy home grown technology with global potential in a $500k deal to protect Perth beachgoers from shark attacks this summer. Perth based ASX listed Shark Mitigation Systems said today they had convinced the W.A State Government to deploy their “Clever Buoy” technology on a trial basis between the two groynes at City Beach over the summer period.

The mind bending process of choosing a surfboard to buy for shark conscious surfers is about to get a little easier after iconic surf brand Rusty signed a licensing agreement to include Shark Mitigation System’s proprietary shark deterrent patterns on their Australian and New Zealand surf boards. In a sea of compteing brands Rusty may have gained an edge. 

When it comes to saving the lives of beach goers, there are few bigger names around the world than Bondi Rescue’s Bruce “Hoppo” Hopkins. The chief lifeguard at Bondi Beach has teamed up with WA-based Shark Mitigation Systems to promote their innovative shark detecting "Clever Buoy" technology. Hopkins first trialed the technology at Bondi in 2016.

Shark Mitigation Systems is partnering with a Californian surf craft manufacturer to accelerate the rollout of its anti-shark technology, “SAMS”, into the US water sports market. The company says the manufacturing license agreement with Californian production firm Boardlams potentially paves the way for distribution of its visual technology into an estimated 2000 US surf shops.

ASX-listed Shark Mitigation Systems has launched its breakthrough anti-shark technology known as “SAMS” directly into the US water sports market, rolling it out to more than 200 US surf stores. SAMS are a series of proprietary stripes that can be attached to marine apparel for the purposes of deterring a shark or camouflaging the wearer.

Shark Mitigation Systems’ cutting edge “Clever Buoy” shark detecting device will be trialled at a major beach in Southern California ahead of a possible $10 million rollout of the technology across the US state. Clever Buoy is one of the Perth-based company’s two innovative anti-shark solutions and is capable of detecting a shark and relaying its position back to lifeguards on the beach.
