Craig Dawson to lead Noble Mineral Resources
Gold miner Noble Mineral Resources has appointed former Sandfire Resources general manager Craig Dawson as its new chief executive.
Brian Thomas is a geologist and mineral economist with extensive experience as both an executive and non-executive director of small to mid market capitalisation public listed resources companies. He has over 35 years of mining and exploration industry experience in a broad range of commodities from precious and base metals, bulk and industrial minerals, diamonds, oil and gas.
Mr Thomas is the principal of a boutique corporate advisory practice, working with small to mid-market capitalisation companies and investor groups predominantly in the resources industry, overseeing market oriented technical reviews and advising on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and investor relations.
He was previously in a senior business development role with a major Australian bank sourcing energy and resources financing opportunities, which followed a period with a global investment banking group. This was preceded by a period as a corporate stockbroker with two major Australian based firms.
Mr Thomas graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Economic Geology, the University of Western Australia with an MBA, and the Securities Institute of Australia (now FinSIA) with a Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment.

Gold miner Noble Mineral Resources has appointed former Sandfire Resources general manager Craig Dawson as its new chief executive.
Perth explorer Orinoco Gold has announced plans to buy out its joint venture partners at the Cascavel mine for $US6.3 million in cash and shares, while both its managing director and chairman have tendered their resignation.
Chinese guarantee services company Ding Sheng Xin Finance has advised that WenFeng Tang will retire as executive director and chief operating officer. Winton Willesee will no longer be joint company secretary but remains on the board as chair.
