Mr Shorten worked as a union organiser, union secretary, as a member of the ACTU Executive, as a Member of Parliament, and as a Minister in a Labor Government. He became Shadow Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme & Shadow Minister for Government Services under the Albanese government in 2019. Following the Labor Party's victory at the 2022 federal election, Mr Shorten retained both portfolios and was sworn in as Minister for Government Services and Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme under the Albanese government.
