Basil Hanna AM was the chief executive of children's charity Parkerville from 2004 to 2019.
At 17 years of age, Mr Hanna commenced nursing and graduated as a general nurse and mental health nurse. He has worked in executive roles in health and welfare since 1990; worked as a national quality manager and project manager and owned his own consultancy, but has always returned to working with children. He considers working for children as the most important job you can do.
He obtained a Science degree after 15 years of nursing, then successfully graduated from Curtin University with an MBA. Mr Hanna is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
In 2021, Mr Hanna was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to children and families through a range of roles.
