Rift over waterfront hospital

THE two commercial arms of the Churches of Christ, led by Neale Fong and Barry Honey, have split over the future of Claremont’s Bethesda Hospital.
Barry Honey was appointed a director of HBF in October 2007 and chair of the board in November 2015. He was a director of HBF Insurance prior to the sale of the general insurance underwriting business.
Mr Honey is a Chartered Accountant and was a partner with KPMG from 1985 to 2004. He developed his specialist expertise in advising stakeholders in companies on financial performance and solvency issues whilst working on major engagements in Australia and South East Asia. In 2004, Mr Honey retired from KPMG to establish the boutique accounting and advisory firm, Honey & Honey.
Mr Honey is also engaged as an independent expert witness to assist the Court in relation to complex financial issues.
