Aoife McGrath is an experienced mining professional, having worked in multiple jurisdictions globally. In her 20 years in the industry, she has worked predominantly in gold mining and exploration. Ms McGrath spent more than 5 years with Alamos Gold as vice president of exploration, and prior to that was director of exploration and corporate development. At Alamos, Ms McGrath built and ran six exploration departments in four countries and managed annual budgets of up to US$36million. Prior to joining Alamos, Ms McGrath was executive director of exploration at Carbine Resources where she built the exploration team from scratch and directed the initial exploration programs in Burkina Faso. She also worked for Red Back Mining as exploration manager of the Chirano Mine in Ghana, where she led the team to the discovery of the Akwaaba Underground Deposit (1 million ounces reserves). As a senior exploration geologist for AngloGold Ashanti at the Geita Gold Mine in Tanzania, she was closely involved in adding 2.5 million ounces to resources. Ms McGrath holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from University College Dublin, a Masters of Science in Mineral Exploration from the University of Leicester, and a Masters of Science in Engineering Geology from Imperial College London.
