Alec Highnam

Alec Highnam was appointed executive general manager of people at BlueScope Steel in April 2016 with responsibility for safety, remuneration and benefits, and organisation capability and performance. In addition, he helps drive BlueScope’s innovation agenda. Mr Highnam has broad experience of BlueScope's business. After joining BlueScope in 2005 as vice president of remuneration, he was appointed vice president of human resources, BlueScope North America. He then returned to Australia in 2011 to take up the role of vice president of people, BlueScope ANZ. Subsequently, as general manager of distribution, he successfully restructured that business.
